My top 3 bathing spots with kids

The swimming spots that we discovered in Ventadour-Egletons-Monédières have nothing to envy anyone. Authentic and accessible, everything we were looking for, we found it!

I love the good moments of relaxation with my wife and my 3 children! I am a big fan of canoeing and hiking, always in search of breathtaking landscapes!

When we arrived in Ventadour-Egletons-Monédières, we felt a new breath. A relaxing, caring feeling. In order to rest and enjoy, me, my wife and my 3 children, we instantly knew we came to the right place.

It was summer and like everywhere else, the sun came slowly to rest on our skin. And even if the heat was more bearable than elsewhere, the fact remains that it was necessary to find places where to cool off and where the children could indulge in swimming.

In our week of stay, we walked throughout the entire Ventadour-Egletons-Monédières territory and some places marked us by their location, their unusual side, but especially their authenticity.

Lake Valetta (Marcillac-la-Croisille)

15 kilometers from Egletons, we discovered Marcillac-la-Croisille and its lake of more than 230 hectares. Under a green setting, the sun was reflecting on the water, adding a little more brilliance to the already splendid view that the lake offered us. As soon as our children arrive, they slip on the swimwear and throw themselves into the lake, while we, parents, quietly put our towels on the beach and enjoy the sun. Another very nice thing : the activities offered by the Sports and Nature Station. Tree climbing, paddle, canoeing : we had a really, really great day !

Lake Deiro (Egletons)

We had heard about this lake when it received the Blue Flag of Europe label. Reassuring for us, because the quality of water and the preservation of the environment are causes that are important to us. We thought it would be nice to rest on the lake. A real quiet place, in a natural setting. Everyone lives together : fishermen, swimmers, sportsmen, … in a good atmosphere ! Top to swim and enjoy !

Meyrignac's pond (Meyrignac l'Eglise)

In our discovery tour of the Ventadour-Egletons-Monédières territory, we decided to go to the Plateau de Millevaches to discover other landscapes. Our path stopped at Meyrignac l’Eglise, a tiny village full of charm. After a short hike around the pond, we decided to dive into the water. Games, possibility to rent pedal boats … we feasted and the kids loved it!

Our next trip in Corrèze will be again in Ventadour-Egletons-Monédières, because one week is really short to (re) discover these exotic places … and refreshing!
