Discover the small village of Saint-Hilaire-Foissac.

Nestled on the foothills of the Luzège, with a breathtaking view on the Cantal mountains, Saint-Hilaire-Foissac will charm you with its unique nave church dating from the 12th century. A small priest’s garden, near the presbytery, is open to visitors all year round. A hike, that starts in the village, will take you to the mill of Saint-Hilaire, where there is a small presentation table of the mill and its operation.

 


WHAT TO SEE AND DO

  • Church Saint-Hilaire-of-Poitiers : built in the 12th century, the church is composed of a single nave and a square chevet. It was enlarged in the 14th century with the addition of side chapels.. It is registered as a Historical Monument since 1993.

  • The Priest’s garden : with a utilitarian vocation, the priests’ gardens are enclosed gardens located near churches or presbyteries, which at the time, provided a few people with fruits and vegetables and flowers. The one in Saint-Hilaire-Foissac is unique, and visitable all year, freely.

  • Hiking trails : on foot or mountain bike, two marked trails allow you to discover the natural environment of Saint-Hilaire-Foissac and to follow the footsteps of deers.
