Rosiers d’Egletons is a village halfway between Ussel and Tulle and just a few kilometers away from Egletons. With an altitude of 820 meters maximum, the village is composed of forty hamlets.
In the heart of unspoilt nature, Rosiers d’Egletons is a unique village. Why ? Because it saw the birth of two popes, very important ones : Clement VI, who built the second palace of popes in Avignon, and Gregory XI, who brought the papacy to Rome.
The stained glass windows of church Sainte-Croix, located in the heart of the village, echo this unique fact in the world. Several old crosses punctuate the roads and crossroads of the village.
